The Girly Show

Sat. Nov. 13 “The Girly Show” was held at historic Trolley Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. There were around 800 spectators there to see the works of local designers, ranging from swim wear to bridal gowns. The amphatheater was jam-packed with people from all walks of life to watch this incredible show.

I showed gowns in 2 gatagories. “Style Wars” required a stripped article of clothing as The HIve, one of the sponsors, was trying to raise money for cat adooption. Yunna wore my darling “Greer” dress from my “Gingersnaps Collection.” This has turned out to be one of my most sought after dresses. So many girls love the lime green/yellow color, the purple/gray/green strips and the surplice neckline and boxed pleated skirt. More often than not, I hear comments that this dress looks like something right off “Mad Men”. Since I have never seen that show, I just have to take that as a compliment!

I also showed 6 wedding gowns from my “Elizabeth Collection”. Audrey- worn by Maren, Sabrina-worn by Kiersten, Cindy-worn by Kara, Gidget-worn by Jenny, Cordelia-worn by Katy, and Sophia-worn by Deena. These girls rocked the house! Walking to Dean Martin’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head”, they each strutted their stuff on the ramp. Each girl received a rousing round of applause as they entered the runway! The audience loved the 50′s theme of this collection and let us know it by their enthusiastic response to these dresses! Thanks girls! You were all fabulous!!

The evening was a hugh success! I love showing this line of gowns; they are incredibly unique! Each time these gowns show to a new crowd, it seems that all in attendance can’t help but smile and reminisce. It’s crazy to look at everyone’s faces and realize how much they love this “new-vintage” look. It brings great satifaction and joy to share these gowns with you.
